Tutorial amigurumi - Little Fish

You will need:

- Two-colored wool (one for the back and fins / tail and one for the belly)
- Safety eyes (eyes for dolls, if you have not made them small circles with felt, you will waste more time but they are fine)
- Padding
- Stitch marker, crochet hook and wool needle.

Experience level:

Medium / easy (if you have already made amigurumi and are at least practical with crochet you will have no problems, the difficulty is in the stitching)

Pattern:

- 3 sc in magic ring

- 2 sc in first and second st,  sc in next 1 st (5)

- 2 sc in first and second st,  sc in next 3 st (7)

- 2 sc in each st  (14)

- Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 1 st, rep from * (21)

- Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st, rep from *(28)

Put the eyes

7-11 round: repeat 1 sc in every st (28)

- *Decrease 1 in next st, then 1 sc in next 3 sts,* repeate from* (21)

- *Decrease 1 in next st, then 1 sc in next 2 sts,* repeate from* (14)

Fill the fish

- *Decrease in all st,(7)
Change color for the tail

- repeat 1 sc in every st (7)

- 2 sc in each st  (14)

- Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 1 st, rep from * (21)

- Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st, rep from *(28)

-1 triple sc in every st (28)

Now let's start with the most complicated part!

Do not close the tail, pass the thread hiding it between the stitches of the tail and point the wool needle from the base of the tail to the back, leave only a couple of stitches.

Upside view

Pass the thread over your back, then knit by taking the stitches on your back as a base. Create a crochet chain that looks at the tail first

First stitch

Ready to work

Once you have the first chain that hooks you to your back, turn the crochet hook and start working in the back looking towards the nose.

Work on the back

Make 6 stitches

Make a chain, turn the work over and do:

1 sc, 1half double sc, 2 double sc, 1 half double sc, 1 sc, knit a very low stitch to block the work and put the wool needle back on, the work on the back is finished, now let's move on to the belly.

Point the needle and pass it on the belly at the same height

Point the needle so that the thread passes at the same height as the base of the fin on the belly, in order to repeat the identical upper fin on the belly.

Repeat same works like on the back:

Make a chain, turn the work over and do:

1 sc, 1half double sc, 2 double sc, 1 half double sc, 1 sc, knit a very low stitch to block the work and put the wool needle back on, the work on the back is finished, now let's move on to the belly.

Thread the wool needle again, the work on the belly is finished, now let's move on to the tail.

Tip in the last mesh of the fin at the base of the tail

Hide the thread along the tail

Pass the thread to the base of the tail then hide it along the tail in order to get to the tip.
From the tip of the tail we sew very simply.

We sew the tail along the edge

Once you are done sewing, close the work and cut the thread. Finished!

A bit complicated for the passages between tail and fins but in this way we don't have to detach and reattach the wires every time. If you are not good at hiding and attacking them well they are ugly to see and it is a very cumbersome job.

The steps are much easier to do than to see, I assure you, if you have already done some or are practical with crochet you will not have problems.

Occorrente:

- Lana di due colori (uno per il corpo ed uno per pinne/coda)

- Safety eyes (occhi per bambole, se non li avete ricavate dei piccoli cerchietti con il feltro, perderete più tempo ma vanno benissimo)

- Imbottitura

- Marcapunti, uncinetto ed ago da lana

Livello esperienza: 

Medio/facile (se avete già fatto amigurumi e siete un minimo pratici con l'uncinetto non avrete problemi, la difficoltà è nella cucitura)

Abbreviazioni:

Ch: catenella

Mb: maglia bassa

Mbss: maglia bassissima

Ma: maglia alta

MMa: Mezza maglia alta

Corpo:

- 3 mb nell'anello magico (magic ring)

- 2 mb nel primo e secondo punto, uno nell'ultimo (5)
- 2 mb nel primo e secondo punto, uno negli ultimi 3 (7)
- 2 mb in ogni punto (14)

- *2 mb nel primo punto, 1 nel successivo* ripetere fino alla fine del giro (21)
- *2 mb nel primo punto, 1 mb nei 2 punti successivi* ripetere fino a fine giro (28)

Metti gli occhi ai lati del musetto

7-11 giro: ripeti una maglia in ogni punto (28)

- *riduci 1, poi 1 mb nei 3 punti successivi* ripeti da * (21)

- *riduci 1, poi 1 mb nei 2 punti successivi* ripeti da * (14)

Imbottisci il pesciolino

- *riduci 1 in tutti i punti (7)

Attacca il secondo colore per fare la coda

- 1 maglia in ogni punto (7)

- 2 mb in ogni punto (14)

- *2 mb nel primo punto, 1 nel successivo* ripetere fino alla fine del giro (21)

- *2 mb nel primo punto, 1 mb nei 2 punti successivi* ripetere fino a fine giro (28)

- 1 maglia tripla in ogni punto, chiudi e lascia un filo lunghissimo.

Ora partiamo con la parte più complicata!

Non chiudere la coda, passa il filo nascondendolo tra le maglie della coda e punta l'ago da lana dalla base della coda alla schiena, lascia solo un paio di maglie.

Stesso punto ma visto dall'alto

Fai passare il filo sulla schiena, poi crea una maglia prendendo i punti sulla schiena come base. Crea prima una catenella con l'uncinetto che guarda la coda

crea una prima catenella in cui iniziare a lavorare e per "agganciarti" sulla schiena

Catenella pronta per lavorare

Una volta che hai la prima catenella che ti aggancia alla schiena gira l'uncinetto e comincia a lavorare nella schiena guardando verso il musetto.

Ora iniziamo a lavorare sulla schiena

Fai 6 maglie basse sulla schiena

Fai una catenella, gira il lavoro e fai:

1 mb, 1MMA, 2 MA, 1 MMA, 1 mb, fai maglia bassissima per bloccare il lavoro e infila di nuovo l'ago da lana, il lavoro sulla schiena è finito, ora passiamo alla pancia.

Maglia bassissima per bloccare e ago da lana pronto nell'angolo per passare al sotto

Punta l'ago e fai passare sulla pancia alla stessa altezza

Punta l'ago in modo da far passare il filo alla stessa altezza della base della pinna sulla pancia, in modo da ripetere la pinna superiore identica sulla pancia.

Ripeti la pinna in maniera identica a quella superiore:

1 mb, 1MMA, 2 MA, 1 MMA, 1 mb, fai maglia bassissima per bloccare il lavoro.

Infila di nuovo l'ago da lana, il lavoro sulla pancia è finito, ora passiamo alla coda.

Punta nell'ultima maglia della pinna alla base della coda

Nascondi il filo lungo la coda

Passa il filo alla base della coda poi nascondilo lungo la coda in modo da arrivare alla punta.

Dalla punta della coda cuciamo in maniera molto semplice.

Cuciamo la coda lungo il bordo

Una volta finito di cucire, chiudi il lavoro e taglia il filo. Finito!

Un po' complicato per i passaggi tra coda e pinne ma in questa maniera non dobbiamo staccare e riattaccare ogni volta i fili. Se non si è bravi a nasconderli ed attaccarli bene rimangono brutti da vedere ed è un lavoro molto macchinoso. 

I passaggi sono molto più semplici da fare che da vedere, ve l'assicuro, se avete già fatto alcuni o siete pratici con l'uncinetto non avrete problemi.

Put the safety eyes on the first lap, leave 5-6 holes of space between one eye and the other.
If you use felt instead, sew the little eyes at the end of everything.

Now the "difficult" part, you have to join your back and belly.

For convenience, work keeping the back upside down and the belly up as you can see in the photo, the belly with the "beautiful" side on the outside.
Continuing to work with the back thread that we have not cut we knit the back stitches in back loop while we take the belly stitches in front loop.

It is easier to do it than to read it, don't worry, I hope you understand it in the picture.
If you are not with the front / back loop simply join the stitches.

When you are almost at the end fill the whale well and close with a very low stitch, cut and hide the thread.

Let's continue with the details.

Tail:

- 4 sc in magic ring

- 2 sc in each st  (8)

Close and leave long thread.

Make two circles to create the tail.
Use one of the long threads of the two circles to join the two circles (just sew two / three stitches together), with the other thread sew the whale's tail.
Pay attention to center from the opposite side of the eyes.

Side fins x2:

- 4 sc in magic ring

- Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 1 st, rep from * (6)

- Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st, rep from *(8)

Close and leave long thread.

Sew the two fins to the sides.

Mettete i safety eyes sul giro prima, lasciate 5-6 buchi di spazio tra un occhietto e l'altro.
Se invece usate il feltro cucite gli occhietti alla fine di tutto.

Schiena pronta per gli occhietti

Occhietti e via a cucire!

Ora la parte "difficile", bisogna unire schiena e pancia.

Per comodità lavorate tenendo la schiena sottosopra e la pancia in alto come vedete in foto, la pancia con il lato "bello" sull'esterno.
Continuando a lavorare con il filo della schiena che non abbiamo tagliato lavoriamo le maglie della schiena in back loop mentre prendiamo le maglie della pancia in front loop.

E' più semplice a farlo che a leggerlo, non vi preoccupate, spero si capisca in foto.
Se non vi trovate con il front/back loop unite semplicemente le maglie.

Quando siete quasi arrivate alla fine riempite bene la balena e chiudete con una maglia bassissima, tagliate e nascondete il filo.

Proseguiamo con i dettagli.

Coda:

- 4 mb nell'anello magico (magic ring)

- 2 mb in ogni punto (8)

- *2 mb nel primo punto, 3 nel successivo* ripetere fino alla fine del giro (10)
Chiudi con maglia bassissima e lascia filo lungo.

Fai due cerchietti per creare la coda.
Usa uno dei fili lunghi dei due cerchietti per unire i due cerchi (basta cucire due/tre punti assieme), con l'altro filo cuci la coda alla balena.
Presta attenzione a centrare dal lato opposto degli occhietti.

Pinne laterali x2:

- 4 mb nell'anello magico (magic ring)

- *2 mb nel primo punto, 1 nel successivo* ripetere fino alla fine del giro (6)

- *2 mb nel primo punto, 2 nel successivo* ripetere fino alla fine del giro (8)

Chiudi con maglia bassissima e lascia filo lungo.
Cuci le due pinne ai lati.
